Say Hey!
Coming into Week Nine, the Say Hey Kids and their 4-4 record were in desperate need of a turnaround. Match-Ups against London, Lone Star, and Hard Ball certainly helped that cause but looking back on these past four weeks, the Say Hey Kids have a lot to be proud of. Most notably, the Kids took down the 9-1 Orlando Splitters in Week 11, 548pts to 510pts. Ronald Acuna Jr. continues to lead the way, as he has all season long (HumBabe Dynasty’s #1 Player), with a 6.65 points per game average since May 29th when Week Nine began. Favorable Match-Ups may be be a factor in their active 5-game Win streak, but the Say Hey Kids are 5th in Points Scored this season and are poised for postseason contention.
Two Weeks Until The Future Arrives
The Florida Squeeze claimed an impressive victory over Wally Mash in Week 11 and now hold a 3-9 record, just two weeks away from the MLB First Year Player Draft. While that tally in the win column rallied morale in their locker room and fan base, it moved them one step further away from the 1st Overall Pick in HumBabe’s 2023 FYP Draft. The Lone Star Drillers continue to flounder with just one victory to their name, while Hard Ball and London each own a 2-10 record to this point. The Squeeze certainly have the necessary pieces to make a bright future come to fruition – Ozzie Albies (26 years old) has been the League’s 7th best player over this past four week stretch – so it’ll be interesting to see what they can add from a Dynasty perspective if they do end up with the 4th FYP Draft Pick. Bryce Elder, Aaron Ashby, and Trevor Rodgers lead the youth of their Pitching Staff, and while Paul Skenes would be a nice addition to that, his 100+mph Fastball will most likely be spoken for in Draft’s the top three picks. From a pitching perspective, Noble Meyer (Jesuit HS), Rhett Lowder (Wake Forest), and Chase Dollander (Tennesse) would all make sense, both for the Florida Squeeze Front Office, and for the HumBabe Dynasty Franchises picking behind them.
Elly De La Cruz-ing
Heard of this guy? One of baseball’s top prospects, and one of several bright spots in the Cincinnati Red’s future. This hasn’t been just another typical prospect call-up however, something sets this man apart. For his MLB debut, De La Cruz was penciled into the four hole of the lineup and if you watched that game – it’s as if the city of Cincinnati had been reborn. The Red’s are 14-3 with Elly in the dugout, including series’ wins over the Dodgers, Cardinals, and series’ sweeps against the Royals, Astros, and Rockies – good for a 12-game win streak until the Braves ended it yesterday. In that time, Elly De La Cruz is the 6th best player in the HumBabe Dynasty League (trailing Corbin Carroll, Shohei Ohtani, Jose Ramirez, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Ronald Acuna Jr.). He hit for the cycle in the 15th MLB game of his career, and if you haven’t heard of him yet, I’ll leave you with this… his 162-game pace:
| G | AVG | R | HR | RBIs | SB |
| 162 | .361 | 184 | 32 | 108 | 76 |
