Week Two Recap

Morning Wood an Underdog?

The Week 2 Match-Up of the Week featured the Brooklyn Robins and Morning Wood; League voting tallied the Robins a 9 to 4 favorite. The Robins gathered support after putting up the League’s 3rd most points in Week One, while Morning Wood put up the 6th most. But Morning Wood being an underdog just doesn’t feel right, and sure enough they came out on top 441 to 418.33. This will most likely be the difference maker when the first Monthly Payout is determined; the four managers that casted their Pick-Em vote in Morning Wood’s favor will have to tally up points over the next two weeks if they want to win the tie-breaker. Sidenote: The poor Brooklyn Robins start the season 0-2 despite scoring the 2nd most points in the League through two weeks … brighter days ahead for sure.

Jackal tops LeBronto

Jackal Attack took to Twitter after beating the LeBronto Blue James 454.92 to 336.42 in Week Two… but LeBronto couldn’t be bothered. Jackal Attack put up 64 more hitting points than LeBronto over the course of the week and 54.5 more pitching points; led by a 45 point effort from Yu Darvish (two start week) and 37 points from the reigning MVP Freddie Freeman. LeBronto’s top point getters from their Week One win over Pablo, Byron Buxton and Jose Berrios had anything but a good Week Two. Buxton tallied just 4.5 points in 5 at-bats over the week and Jose Berrios made one start, good for 4.1 IP a Loss and 6.42 fantasy points. Without a single LeBronto player over the 30 points mark in Week Two, you can understand the yawning emoji response the Blue James GM posted to Jackal’s tweet… this week was an outlier for the defending Hum Babe champ and shouldn’t happen too many more times, if at all, down the road.
