’20 Week Nine Recap

What’s Pablo’s Secret?

Who else but the defending champ, Pablo and the Secret Weapons, to take the LeBronto Blue James down from their throne of a 2020 undefeated record? But with Alex Bregman, Kris Bryant and Yordan Alvarez all on the Injured Reserve during the victory, we are left wondering, what exactly is Pablo’s Secret Weapon? Well first of all, Week Nine didn’t see the best version of LeBronto show up, scoring just 132.25 points – 6th worst in the League during the week. Secondly, Pablo is getting consistent production from veterans like Yasmani Grandal, Teoscar Hernandez and Marcell Ozuna. But the Secret Weapon of Pablo’s 6-3 team this season has been the impact of their young prospects. During Week Nine, Ryan Mountcastle was called up to debut and provided 10 points to the cause, Cavan Biggo added another 19.5 points to his season total, Keston Hiura gave a 16 point effort and Dylan Cease threw 12.25 points on top of that. Scary to think that the Hum Babe Dynasty Defending Champion’s featured trait is their young stars, just one season removed from winning it all.

Jackal At The Buzzer

Jackal Attack continues to roar back from their slow start to the 2020 season, and in Week Nine, they roared back to defeat the Brooklyn Bridegrooms on the last at-bat of the Match-Up. Jackal needed just a few points out of Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman with a few innings to play, but they certainly didn’t do it with ease. Dansby Swanson got on-base via a Fielder’s Choice in the 9th inning of the Braves vs Phillies game, worth zero points to Jackal, but it brought up Freddie Freeman with two men on base and two outs. Freedie came through. A double in the left-centerfield gap brought in one run before Swanson, the tying run for the Braves, was thrown at the plate. The result, a loss for the Braves but a win for Jackal Attack, moving them to 6-3 on the year along with five other Hum Babe teams.

Re-Building Blocks

The Thor and His Hammers has officially declared that they are in rebuilding mode. The GM sent the following message to the other Hum Babe managers this past week, “The Thor and His Hammers are selling house. We plan on rebuilding and potentially rebranding, as even Noah Syndergaard is available for anyone interested in looking towards the future.” So far, the Re-Building Blocks of Thor’s squad include both MacKenzie Gore (MLB’s #1 LHP prospect) and Adley Rustchman (MLB’s #1 Catching prospect). Thor isn’t stopping there however, rumor has it that Thor has agreed to a three-team trade that will result in the acquisition of Alex Kirilloff from the Sarasota Splitters, Mitch Keller from Pablo, and some moves up the 2021 Draft Board. The price for these prospects has included Charlie Morton, Luke Voit, Kyle Freeland and Christian Vasquez so far but Thor seems to be confident that this house can stand without those guys and sent them to Hum Babe teams looking to claim the 2020 Championship.
