FEATURED LOOK | Brooklyn Robins

The Interview

1 – What is your favorite part of The Hum Babe Dynasty Fantasy Baseball League?

“Since year one, I have loved the action in the group chat (minus a few select Giants fans.) It’s been a blast talking baseball in GroupMe. Nothing beats the live draft we did, though.” – GM

2 – What’s the story behind your team name – Brookyln Robins?

“As many here know, our team started out as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms, one of the former names of the Dodgers franchise back in the late 1800’s. Initially, the alliteration won me over, but when we moved to be the Robins, it had been a long time coming. Another former name of the Dodgers, it always stood out to me, and it’s here to stay!” – GM

3 – What do you think of your team currently? Contender? Rebuilding?

“Absolute contender. Even after a crazy unlucky start to the 2021 season, we will continue to be a playoff team. We’re getting some key players healthy, and at full strength, I’m confident that we will find ourselves back in the Championship Match-Up like Year One.” – GM

4 – What changes would you like to make to your team right now? Any players you want to trade for? Prospects you hope develop?

“Look for the Robins to make a run on the starting 5 sweep… perhaps a McGregor strutting, one-eye open pitcher?” – GM

5 – Of the other Hum Babe teams, who would you consider to be your rival?

“We have tremendous respect for so many Hum Babe teams, and losing to Pablo in Year One’s Championship still stings everytime I see his logo on that banner, but coming so close to taking down the Blue James in last year’s playoffs, and of course him going on to win it all last year, we’re paying close attention to LeBronto. On the other side, if Jackal Attack or The Studs can make the playoffs, we would LOVE to face off with either of them in that first Match-Up!” – GM

6 – At the top of our Hum Babe Fantrax webpage is the Banner of League Champions, in what season/year do you predict your team logo will be added to it?

“Call us crazy, but even after a 1-5 start, we see ourselves as contenders, just like the previous two years. Injuries have plagued our roster, but at full strength, we predict another championship matchup this year. Get hot at the right time and who knows what could happen. Hard to look past the Splitters strong start, but the season is young. 2021 is the answer.” – GM

7 – Anything else you’d like to share with the League and/or Media?

“The Brooklyn Robins are 1-5 … it’s the kind of start that makes for a storybook comeback. Don’t say we didn’t tell you so in May… also, Trevor Bauer belongs on the Robins. Let’s make it happen El Paso Border Patrol.” – GM
